* Use fundamental personal computing concepts and terminology * Work with Windows 98 desktop objects and windows * Navigate to information stored on their computer * Use Windows Explorer to manage files and folders * Use common Windows 98 program techniques by working with WordPad and Paint * Customize the Windows 98 desktop to best suit their needs * Access the Internet and use the basic functions of the Internet Explorer environment Windows 98: Transition from Windows 95 (Half-day course) Performance-based objectives
* Identify new features on the desktop and change how the desktop is viewed. * Connect to the Internet by using desktop shortcuts and channels, activating subscriptions, and placing active Web content on the desktop. * Manage and locate information by using the Web-related features of the Windows Explorer and the new elements of the Find feature. * Customize the user interface by changing the taskbar, creating a floating toolbar, rearranging items on the Start menu, and changing the desktop properties.
